ROV and videos
Underwater Video System ("drop camera" - is a bottom-up video system consisting of an underwater video camera and a recording device in a boat). The video system is used to assess the overall cover, species composition and coverage of benthic vegetation and sediment types. Recorded video material is later analyzed in the laboratory to provide coverage profiles and bottom types for benthic communities.
The Estonian Marine Institute uses an ROV produced by SeaBotix. The model we use for research is the LBV 200.
